I picked my bridesmaid dresses! My Bridal Party and our pampering session

Hi again.  I feel quite accomplished this week about my headway with the bridal party- I feel like bragging.  I knew who I wanted to stand by my during this big day right away.  I have picked 3 sorority sisters and Brandon’s step-sister.  Even though I knew right away, it took me some bit to get there.

Brandon has a lot of friends, friends from each stage of his life; college, HS, work, family, etc.  If he had the perfect party it would include 9 or 10 people but its just a little ridiculous and he will admit that.  For some time we debated the size of our wedding party and then one day I just needed to start asking.  I made these great photo cards from an iphone app for each of my girls, you can completely customize them and they are printed and sent for you.  It was really great and they looked professionally done but were made effortlessly by an app.  I got 3 excited yesses right away!

My last girl, Brandon’s step-sister was tricky.  Not close yet, but I I couldn’t help but fall for her- bubbly and welcoming I just knew that she would be great to get to know.  I had planned to ask her until she expressed concern about being another bridesmaid- that she would say no if asked again.  YIKES.  I chickened out for about 6 months.  A few weeks after asking my girls things started to heat up in planning and I still wanted to ask Stephanie so I sent her an email.  I was quite honest and showed understanding if she wanted to decline.  She didn’t- She was excited too!!!!  PHEW.  And now its all history, I was a chicken for no reason.  Next step bridesmaid gifts… any suggestions?

So now I have my girls and what to do next.  I signed up for WeddingtonWay.com to help with the dresses.  This website is great, I found styles that I like on the website and “favorited” them.  Then I shared the login with my girls and they could go in and rank the dresses that they liked best.  I ordered fabric swatches and if they look ok we can make a decision.  I am impressed with this website- it was incredible easy to pick, rate and save the dresses.  They have a good selection of dress lines and I have decided to let the girls pick their own style of the same color and fabric dress.  It’s nice too because within the same fabric there are a few price ranges so I can fit a few budgets.

We also signed up for some pampering morning off.  ProImage, a local salon will come into my house for a reasonable amount.  They are doing mani, pedis, makeup and hairdos for me and all of the girls.  Staying at home to get ready sounds like a luxury- did I mention that they bring breakfast and mimosas??!?!  I am going for a haircut to test them out shortly, next step hairdo research.

Back to pin-interest and googling!
