Wedding Craze

OK Ladies…

I am officially in my glory. Our year countdown began 12 days ago, and we celebrated what we referred to as our negative one year anniversary at Niagara on the lake. I surprised Andrew with a stay at the Wellington House Bed and Breakfast (which was amazing, it was a Parisian dream) and had a limo pick us up to drive us around the gorge and Niagara Falls for a few hours. (This was the least I could do after the amazing proposal he gave me!)

I don’t know exactly what it was about the champagne hazed weekend that instilled this innate love of everything wedding, but I kid you not, a switch has been flipped.
It could have something to do with my best friend’s wedding inquiries, or “proposing” to my future sister in law to be my bridesmaid, which was super fun by the way. I saw an idea on pinterest (which I have become addicted to- if you are not using it and you are planning a wedding… seriously, sign up) and created my own version- a box that was ever so elegantly wrapped (hah) which read “will you be my” on the outside, and then a rolled up tank that said “Bridesmaid” with a mini bottle of champagne on one side, a champagne flute on the other side with a corkscrew and faux diamonds sprinkled throughout. ( I secretly think that may have been the turning moment, it was so fun to make! )

Maybe it is that it is wedding season and TLC, Lifetime and WE are riddled with Wedding this, Dress that… I am eating it up! Not to mention my guilty pleasure E! always gushes over celebrity weddings. Who can stand it? I am in heaven!

In addition, I am a sales manager at the Lord Amherst Hotel in Buffalo, and I have been brainstorming different ways to penetrate the Bridal and Wedding market for the remainder of this year and next. Ladies… quick plug if you are planning a wedding… our hotel is IDEAL for group blocks for your wedding guests, it is right off of the 290 and has affordable prices for your guests. If you were looking for a reception venue for next year; we are adjacent to Sonoma Grille which has banquet facilities for 150 + guests and is beautiful, and by next year our hotel will be completely renovated and a brand new treat for your guests!

I have been admittedly spending more of my paycheck then I would like to admit on every bridal magazine I can get my hands on. There are just so many cute ideas out there and I am getting those creative juices flowing. My youngest sister has just returned from a 2 week stint in Paris, so I am hoping she will be able to provide me with some romantic French inspiration also.

I think the last thing that has pushed me into this bridal craze is… and please beware : Cheese factor alert.. but let’s face it, if you are reading this you are probably at an equally cheesy point so…I find that (hopefully) when you get engaged you are at a point where you think” I don’t think there is a way I could possibly love this man any more”… then the next day you realize you were very wrong, and really each day after that. I just noticed that no matter what goes on I always wake up and smile because I find that it has happened again, I have miraculously outdone the day before.
