Matching Bridesmaids

Hey Jen,
I'm have a variety of beautiful shape and size bridesmaids; from one who is about a size 2 to one who is a size 22. Years ago I saw an catalog which had all different styles of the same length dress - but the dresses were all the same fabric and monochromatic color scheme - I thought that was GREAT! They even had complimentary styles for the flower girls!
I've been trolling the internet and I can't find anything like that - can you direct me to the right place to find something like that?!!!
Also, I will be returning to my home town to have my wedding with family and friends in Buffalo and my boyfriend's family will be coming in from Europe - so I'd love to have my reception somewhere really special that will show off my home town in it's best light - thought about Niagara Falls - but I'm open to ANYTHING! Any ideas?!

Dear Tish,
Congratulations! I also love the idea of different style bridesmaids’ dresses —your girls can choose the most flattering cut for their shape, but your wedding party will still look polished and consistent. Lots of bridal shops carry these lines, so I’d recommend visiting a few local stores and speaking to the consultants there. It can be tempting to shop for dresses online but there’s no substitute for local, one-on-one attention, and they’ll be able to point you in the right direction. And if there’s an issue, you have someone you can meet with face-to-face.
As for reception venues, there are so many great choices in WNY: the Buffalo Historical Society, the newly reopened Statler City and the soon-to-open space in the Hotel Lafayette are interesting city choices; historical venues like The Roycroft Inn or Tonawanda Castle are cool in the suburbs; and Acqua, Templeton Landing and Top of the Falls are just a few waterfront options. Other possibilities: slopeside at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville or the gorgeous inns of Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON. Of course there are countless more; it all depends on what style you want your wedding to take, how many guests you plan to invite, what area of WNY you’d like to focus on, and, of course, what your mother wants!
