My Chocolate, My Way

For a sweet favor, go beyond the basic mints with chocolate as specialized as your wedding

Chocomize

The Cherry Hill, N.J.-based chocolatier lets brides and grooms create their own signature wedding candy bar, perfect for a favor or welcome bag.

Couples start with a chocolate (dark, milk or white). Next, they can add up to five toppings, with ingredients ranging from crunchy (nuts and seeds) to sweet (candy pieces) and spicy (mini chipotle peppers) – whatever fits their wedding’s theme. An editable image, such as a picture of the couple or their wedding date, also can be added to the bar. The pillow box the bar arrives in also can be personalized with a photo or design. Theo Chocolate

The Seattle-based sweets maker offers a wide range of chocolates, but their speciality is their boxed ganache and salted caramel confections that make for perfect boxed favors. Pick the flavor, how many (two or four), and even customize the packaging to match your wedding’s theme. Need more cred? Theo’s ghost chile salted caramels is among the finalists for 2011’s confection of the year.

The Speeches

Dear Jen,

I’m concerned the best man is going to give an inappropriate wedding toast. What should I do?
