Statler Saga

I’m feeling much better about things over at the Statler. Dan and I began looking at other venues, hoping to get that “feeling” again. Whenever we found a place that we liked and compared the two, the Statler and Park Lane Catering always came out on top. After a while (and countless hours of discussion), we both realized that we continued to favor our original choice because, deep down, that is where we saw our wedding taking place.

The menu and services that the caterers at Park Lane were offering fit our needs – and then some. Dan and I have completely different styles and tastes, so finding something we both love was no easy task. After coming to this realization, we decided to make an appointment with Park Lane and take another look at the Rendezvous Room at the Statler Towers.

Last Saturday, we woke up early and headed into downtown Buffalo. As soon as we walked in, I experienced immediate relief. Walls and carpet had been replaced in the common areas surrounding the ball rooms. We were told the utility bills were completely taken care of, something I had not yet heard on the news. Then, we walked down the steps to the Rendezvous Room.

The “feeling” came back almost instantly. I saw the lighting, the stairs, and the setting. I knew this was where our reception would be. Dan was a little difficult to read at this point, but after a few comments made to the coordinator, I knew he felt the same way. We went through tasting options, linens choices, and asked any additional questions that we had. I left feeling as though everything was set on the right course.

I no longer feel as worried. Of course, there is always a chance that something disastrous could happen – but, that could really be said of any location. I’m confident that the quality and service of Park Lane Catering will provide us with all that we have expected. To all the other worried brides (and grooms) out there, I think we will be okay!
