With him being a Buffalo sports fanatic, I would have never dreamed I could fall in love with a man who grew a playoff beard! Nate and I met through mutual friends in 2006 during the Sabres playoffs. Of course, he didn’t even notice me because he was imagining his beloved team winning the cup! But after yet another heartfelt letdown, we began dating and have become inseparable ever since. He has taught me what it is like to be a true “Buffalonian” as he calls it, introducing me to the game of hockey and football. I have been pursing my Doctorate in Physical Therapy, while Nate works to support himself and our puppy Ava. Going to school full time makes it difficult to help out financially, as I work on the weekends to pay my own bills. When Nate proposed in December, I was the happiest woman in the world! Although I couldn’t be more excited to spend the rest of my life with the man I love, I have become overwhelmed thinking about student loans, tuition costs, and the financial reality of planning a wedding. Winning this contest would be a dream come true, knowing that our special day will be a magical memory that will last a lifetime!
